Where to Go Out on Thursday in Valencia (If You Actually Live Here)

Spain Club Valencia

Ask anyone who moved to Valencia in the last few years and they’ll tell you the same thing: Friday is fine, Saturday is chaos, and the good nights are the ones nobody puts on a poster. Thursday has quietly become one of them.

Why Thursday works

There’s a practical logic to it.

Friday and Saturday in Valencia belong to everyone — which means they belong to no one in particular. Big rooms, long queues, groups who don’t know each other and aren’t going to. Fine when you’re twenty-two and new in town. Less appealing after your second year here.

Thursday is different because it requires a small act of will. Nobody goes out on a Thursday by accident. You go because you decided to, which means everybody around you did too.

The result is a room full of people who chose to be there. That sounds obvious. It isn’t, and you feel the difference within ten minutes.

It starts on a rooftop

The evening begins early, and it begins upstairs.

One of the rooftop terraces in the centre has become the unofficial starting point. There’s no event, no promotion, nothing announced. People simply turn up — and a specific kind of people turns up.

Internationals who’ve been here long enough to stop calling it an adventure. Valencians from the business and creative side of the city. Small groups who’ve made Thursday their night. Someone you half-recognise from another room, another month.

It’s social hour rather than party hour. Conversations, introductions, the slow accumulation of people who know each other through three or four different routes. And eventually, the question that gives the whole night its shape: so where are you heading after?

Because everyone is heading somewhere after.

A full room — the only real measure of whether a night worked.

From the rooftop to TATEL

This is the part that makes the night unusual.

As the evening moves on, a good share of that same crowd drifts towards TATEL Valencia. Not as a group, not on cue — in twos and threes, the way people move between rooms at a party in someone’s house.

And that’s exactly how it feels. Not like starting a second night, but like continuing the first one somewhere with better music. The same conversations carry over. The same faces reappear. The difference is that people have stopped sitting down.

It helps that TATEL runs its own club inside the restaurant, right in the centre. Dinner, drinks and a dance floor in one building, no taxis, no reorganising fifteen people at midnight. But the building isn’t why people walk over.

Touché: where the night actually starts

What happens from there is called Touché.

It works for a reason that contradicts most nightlife logic: it doesn’t feel like a big party. There’s no sense of a room packed with strangers. There are internationals and there are Valencians. There are new people every week, and there are faces you recognise from last Thursday.

The atmosphere is well-dressed without being stiff. Warm. Genuinely social. Someone introduces you to someone, that person turns out to know someone else, and by two in the morning you’re deep in conversation with three people you hadn’t met at midnight.

A lot of that comes down to the hosting team behind it, who aren’t in the business of filling a room so much as connecting one. It’s a subtle difference and it shows immediately: people aren’t there because somebody handed them a flyer. They’re there because somebody they trust told them to come.

Fernando Rise and the sound of Thursday

Musically, the night rests on Fernando Rise.

He’s one of the more interesting names coming up in Valencia right now, and what he does at Touché is harder than it looks. Clean, elegant house — the kind that doesn’t force you to choose between talking and dancing.

His real skill is reading the room. He opens by supporting the atmosphere rather than competing with it, then builds with patience, avoiding the abrupt gear change that kills so many nights. By the time you notice, the floor is full and nobody can point to the moment it stopped being drinks and became a party.

That transition is the signature of the night. It’s his.

More community than club night

Touché is run by Renzo Marengo and his team, in partnership with TATEL Valencia.

Marengo has spent years working at the intersection of events, nightlife and Valencia’s international communities, and what seems to have happened is that Touché pulled a lot of separate relationships into the same room. Friends. Clients. Professional contacts. Internationals who arrived here independently and found each other through it.

The effect is less an event than a large recurring gathering that absorbs someone new every week. In nightlife, that’s not something you can buy. It either exists or it doesn’t.

This is how Thursdays end here. Usually they do not end here.

And when it looks like the night is over…

One more thing, and we’ll be discreet about it.

When Touché winds down, some nights it doesn’t actually end. Part of the same crowd carries on somewhere else. Same musical direction, same atmosphere, different room.

It isn’t an official after-party and nobody announces it. That’s precisely why it works. The regulars know. Newcomers find out when someone asks are you coming? at the hour they’d assumed the night was finished.

Call it this: the night doesn’t end. It relocates.

In Valencia, you know where Thursday starts. Where it finishes depends on who you start it with.

Want to do the full route this Thursday? Message us and we’ll tell you where it starts, when to arrive and how to get in without queuing. If you’re coming as a group, we’ll sort a table.

If you want in on the rest of it
